About Ferris Lane Community Daycare

Our story started in the Spring of 2005 with 2 part time children and grew from there over the years!  We currently have 6 classrooms, offering a variety of different programs throughout the year.  We offer programs to children ages 18 months up to 12 years.  We have one Toddler class, 2 preschool classes, 1 full day JK/SK class, and 1 after school program.  Pre-Covid, we also offered before school care, summer camp for school age children as well as a morning nursery school program for preschoolers.  We can't wait until we can offer those programs once again.  

We love to celebrate at Ferris Lane, anything from birthdays to holidays!  We normally have big home-cooked lunches together in our large hallways for Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving!  We also have dance parties in our gym for Valentine's Day, Halloween and Canada Day!  Every year, in June, we have a giant Birthday Party for our daycare's birthday!  We also celebrate each child's birthday in a special way!

Our teachers program using the Emergent Curriculum.  We follow the child's lead.  Our teaching staff will observe the children at play, and based on their observations will determine the children's interests and program around them.  We offer a wide variety of activities, from creative arts, sensory play, outdoor play, indoor play, dramatic play, circle time, science and math.  The children will learn self-help skills as well as social skills.  They will learn how to share, how to take turns, how to be a good friend.  We also do some work around social emotional alongside our Resource Consultants.  We use the Zones of Regulations to help children understand their feelings and emotions.
